Fayez Al Sharef is the Chief Executive Officer ( CEO ) of Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara). Appointed as Sadara’s CEO on Sept. 1, 2023, Al Sharef brings with him a wealth of experience working in the chemical industry, having begun his career at SABIC in 1993 before taking up leadership roles in Saudi Aramco and Arlanxeo. Prior to joining Sadara, Al Sharef served for five years as the Director of the Amiral Program, one of Saudi Aramco's Giga projects.

Al Sharef joined Saudi Aramco in 2002 after his tenure as Operations Group Leader for one of SABIC's affiliates. At Saudi Aramco, he worked in various leadership roles in the areas of operations, procurement, and business development. He contributed to the establishment of Saudi Aramco's chemical products, sales, and marketing function. He led the commercial team that shaped the formation of Sadara. Al Sharef was a Board Member of Arlanxeo from 2019 to 2024 and served on Sadara’s Board from 2020 until his appointment as the CEO.

Throughout his career, Al Sharef has headed and been involved in major transformation programs, strategy formation and execution. His contributions led to significant financial improvements and efficiency gains in all the organizations he served.

Al Sharef holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and is a graduate of Harvard and Stanford Executive Program in General Management.
