Bandar Al Mashari

BUSINESS CHALLENGE

Bandar Al Mashari is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Aramco Americas, based in Houston, Texas, a position he assumed July 5, 2022. In this role, he is responsible for all Aramco Americas Information Technology (IT) operations and corporate services provided to its affiliates in the western hemisphere, as well as cybersecurity operations for the region. As CIO, Al Mashari also oversees the Company’s Digital Transformation program and all technology scouting on behalf of Saudi Aramco in the Americas.

Previously, Al Mashari served as Head of Saudi Aramco Global Cybersecurity Operations Center, where he led global cybersecurity defenses focused on threats to the Company’s operations including cyber monitoring, incident response, and cyber intelligence, among other activities.  

He joined Aramco in 2002 as an Application Developer at the Company’s headquarters in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Over his 22-year career with the Company, he has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility within the Saudi Aramco Information Technology organization.

Al Mashari received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and his master’s degree in information security from Georgia Institute of Technology.
